1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 16.3-N, W-4610. Rarity-2. Draped Bust Left. AU-55 (PCGS). CAC. 140.4 grains. Glossy deep saddle brown with excellent centering and eye appeal on both sides. Obverse clash marks present around the effigy, no contact marks of merit present, even under low magnification, reverse rim somewhat tight to the tops of ET LIB but not affecting those letters. This is a choice example of the variety, one that deserves a strong bidding response. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier from (Bowers and Merena's) Rarities Sale of July 1997, lot 1065; our sale of Collection SLT, January 2012, lot 7463; our Baltimore Auction of November 2012, lot 6522. PCGS# 409. NGC ID: 2B3D.
