1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 8-C, W-6260. Rarity-3. Period After MASSACHUSETTS. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. Glossy deep autumn-orange brown in the fields with strong chestnut-brown highlights around the devices. A loupe reveals faint microporosity throughout, but no marks of consequence are seen without magnification, and the overall eye appeal is substantial for the grade. Choice and appealing with fairly bold central design details. We've been fortunate to offer a few really nice certified EFs for this Ryder number over the last couple of years, and in your cataloger's opinion the present example is the leader of pack in terms of both technical quality and eye appeal.
