1793/2 Washington Ship Halfpenny. Musante GW-20, Baker-18, W-10855.

1793/2 Washington Ship Halfpenny. Musante GW-20, Baker-18, W-10855. Copper. Lettered Edge. AU-53 (PCGS). This popular Washington type was struck from the same obverse die as used on the 1791 Small Eagle cents. The offered example is nicely toned in warm olive-brown with glints of sandy-gold from faded mint color. Softness to the top of Washington's head and at central reverse is typical for the type, but there is only light wear, and the overall design remains bold. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier from Heritage's Long Beach Signature Auction of September 2008, lot 76. PCGS# 734. NGC ID: 2B7J.
