1813 Classic Head Cent. S-292, B-2. Rarity-2. AU-53 (PCGS).

1813 Classic Head Cent. S-292, B-2. Rarity-2. AU-53 (PCGS). Breen Die State V. Well struck for this late state of the Sheldon-292 dies, although the obverse is off center to 6 o'clock with the lower border into the bottoms of the date digits. The reverse is well centered, both sides only lightly worn with all major design elements bold and appreciable. Texture is satiny and smooth in the absence of troublesome blemishes, color is a pleasing blend of deep golden and medium brown. The conditionally challenged nature of the Classic Head cent design type is well known in numismatic circles, and this handsome PCGS-certified AU will be just right for a high grade set. Provenance: From the Collection of Gary T. Athelstan. PCGS# 1570. NGC ID: 224X. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
