1816 Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-1. MS-63 RB (PCGS).

1816 Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-1. MS-63 RB (PCGS). Noyes Die State C/C. Gently mottled light olive-brown patina adorns both sides and allows vivid pinkish-red mint color to shine forth nicely from the protected areas around the design elements. This is a hard and frosty example, well struck and generally bold with only light marks over and before the obverse portrait that help to explain the MS-63 numeric grade from PCGS. Nice Select Mint State quality for this first year issue among middle date large cents. Provenance: From the Collection of Gary T. Athelstan. PCGS# 1592. NGC ID: 224Z.
