1851 Augustus Humbert $50. Reeded Edge. K-6. Rarity-5-. 887 THOUS.

ice Mid-Grade Kagin-6 Humbert $50 1851 Augustus Humbert $50. Reeded Edge. K-6. Rarity-5-. 887 THOUS., First Target Reverse. VF-35 (PCGS). Offering bold detail to the focal features in and around the centers, as well as warm color in even golden-olive, this coin has much to recommend it to advanced collectors in the territorial gold discipline. The obverse periphery is expectably soft for a Humbert $50 in Choice VF, especially at bottom and right, where little detail is seen, including a just barely perceptible date. Lightly bruised at left reverse, scattered marks are also consistent with both the type and grade. All California Gold Rush era $50 slugs are prized numismatic properties, and this Kagin-6 Humbert is no exception. PCGS# 10214. NGC ID: ANH9. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
