1871-CC Liberty Head Eagle. Fine-12 (PCGS). CAC. An uncommonly low certified grade for a Liberty Head eagle, but an important one given the rarity and consequent cost of the key date 1871-CC at all levels of preservation. This premium Fine-grade example is of further significance given the undeniably original, remarkably smooth and well composed surfaces that have secured it rare CAC approval for this challenging Carson City Mint issue. Lovely honey-rose color with reddish-gold outlines to many of the design elements, both sides also deliver bold outline detail to all features. One simply could not ask for a nicer CC-Mint $10 of any date below the middle reaches of the numismatic grading scale. We expect that this piece will be instantly recognized for this desirability, and encourage interested parties to prepare an aggressive bidding strategy. CAC Stickered Population: 14 in all grades. PCGS# 8661. NGC ID: 264X. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
