19th-century American mixed-media bank titled "Weeden's Plantation Darkey Savings Bank". It was manufactured by the Weeden Manufacturing Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Front features a banjo player, however the standing dancing figure is missing. Retains the original cast tin base drawer with embossed scroll work that reads "COIN SAFE". The reverse of the bank features its original intact cardboard instruction panel, boldly printed with structural user notes, the central text "WIND WITH THE ARROW", and the factory mark "PATENTS APPLIED FOR". The underside features a solid, clean, square block base crafted from seasoned wood. Appears to be overwound. Approx. 5.25" x 3.75" x 3.5". See images for additional details and condition.
