1899 $20 LIBERTY HEAD DOUBLE EAGLE — NGC MS62

1899 $20 LIBERTY HEAD DOUBLE EAGLE — NGC MS62 A strong Mint State Type III Double Eagle, this NGC MS62 example shows bright, original golden luster with sharp detail across Liberty’s portrait, including well-defined curls, coronet lettering, and clean facial features. The reverse eagle is equally bold, with crisp feather definition and smooth, attractive fields that elevate the coin’s eye appeal above typical MS62 offerings. Surfaces display the light, scattered contact marks expected at the 62 level grade, yet the overall presentation remains pleasing and well-balanced. The coin retains excellent color, strong luster flow, and solid strike quality — making it a desirable certified Mint State representative of late-19th-century U.S. gold. A handsome MS62 Double Eagle that will draw confident bidder interest.
