The baluster-form body is hand-painted with delicate polychrome floral sprays connected by gilt scrolling garlands, exemplifying the refined Rococo taste of the period. The silver-mounted foot, rim, and lid finial are richly decorated with foliate and scrolling motifs. A fine example of 18th-century French decorative arts, combining finely painted porcelain with elaborate silver mounts.
