1906-O Barber Dime. MS-67 (PCGS). A Condition Census quality example of this popular Barber dime. Both sides are adorned with intense salmon-pink, olive-gold and steel-lilac iridescence. The devices offer impressive definition amplified by the unbroken satin luster. The smooth fields are faintly reflective in isolated areas. A delightful example, and sure to please even the most discriminating bidder. The 1906-O vies with the 1907-O as the most readily obtainable New Orleans Mint Barber dime after only the first year 1892-O. Even so, examples in the finest Mint State grades, as here, are rarer than those of such other mintmarked issues in this series as the 1911-D, 1911-S, 1914-D and 1916-S. The 2009 reference Collecting & Investing Strategies for Barber Dimes by Jeff Ambio includes an MS-68 and several MS-67s in a listing of "Significant Examples" for the 1906-O. PCGS Population: 11; 2 finer PCGS# 4840. NGC ID: 23EZ. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
