1949 Land Rover Series I

1949 Land Rover Series I

Rare, early-production, UK-market Series I identified by its 80-in. wheelbase, headlights behind a wire mesh grille, cowl-mounted side lights, and spade-shaped seats. Originally fitted with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine. Completed production on 27 May 1949; dispatched to Vincent Greenhaus Limited, Shrewsbury, Shropshire on 20 June 1949, according to accompanying BMIHT certified factory record. Acquired for The Boeckmann Collection out of England in late 2020; imported to the United States in early 2021. Finished in factory-correct green with appealing patina throughout. A lovely, early right-hand-drive example of the iconic British off-roader to be enjoyed as-is or fully restored to show condition.
