1959 Austin-Healey 100/6 BN6

The Golden Age of the British roadster produced numerous memorable classics, but few were as charismatic and beloved as those from Austin- Healey. Affectionately known as the “Big Healeys,” the 100/4, 100/6, and 3000 series paired elegant British styling with robust performance and international motorsports success. Introduced in 1956, the 100/6 replaced the earlier four-cylinder engine with a wonderfully sonorous straight-six. Further development brought a redesigned cylinder head, separate six-port inlet manifold, and larger SU carburetors, lifting output to 117 bhp. Introduced in 1958, the BN6 offered a true two-seat roadster configuration alongside the existing BN4 2+2. This example, chassis BN6L/1561 is a desirable factory left-hand-drive example originally delivered to Philadelphia, according to its accompanying BMIHT Certificate. The Healey received a ground-up restoration, documented by photographs and invoices on file, which included a new frame, along with an engine and gearbox rebuild. The work also encompassed the rear axle, instruments, electrical system, chrome, and red leather interior. Presented in stunning colors, this Healey combines a handsome presentation with substantial mechanical attention. This 100/6 represents a particularly appealing opportunity to acquire the sporting BN6 variant of this enduring British icon. car
