It is still finished in its original colour of ‘Signalrot’ (568H), which goes magnificently with its beige leather upholstery and original hardtop. In the United States, the car belonged to Kenneth Stadt from the New York area, whose large collection included several classic Porsches and Mercedes. Maintained by Pepe Motors, the 280 SL was bought by Thierry Dehaeck in October 2015 and imported into Belgium the following month. It then underwent a meticulous restoration, with work on the body entrusted to Roeland Vincke, a renowned Belgian workshop. They carried out a remarkable job, extensively documented in a file containing numerous photographs. Alongside this work, the mechanical components, upholstery and accessories were restored by Cady Cars to a very high standard, regardless of time or cost, with the result that the car is now in exceptional condition.
