1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet

Introduced in 1969, the Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 represented the final development of the W111 Cabriolet. Along with revised radiator styling, the model gained a 3.5-litre V-8 with overhead camshafts and Bosch electronic fuel injection. Rated at 203 PS, this engine gave the elegant four-seater performance to match its presence. This Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet is finished in dark blue, complemented by a light tan interior and dark blue soft top. The 3.5 features an automatic transmission, Becker radio, and power windows. The Mercedes is further distinguished by its floor-mounted gear change, lending the cabin a more sporting character than the traditional column-shift arrangement. Purchased by its current owner in 2020 from the family of its original owner, the Mercedes-Benz makes an attractive presentation, with its odometer displaying 71,708 km at the time of cataloguing. Its accompanying file contains maintenance invoices documenting work carried out in Switzerland. With its V-8 power, floor-shift configuration, and appealing presentation in lovely colors, this 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet is an attractive example of Mercedes-Benz’s elegant open grand tourer. car
