1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 hard-top

1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 hard-top

1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 hard-top - Only 3,500 miles from new! - Superb original condition, original V12 engine - Magnificent combination of colours - Comfortable, powerful and flexible model The key feature of this Jaguar E-Type Series 3 is its especially low mileage, of just 3500 miles (5632km). Its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate informs us that it left the factory on 8 February 1973 and was delivered to British Leyland New York on 7 March that year. Little is known about its life in the States and the first registration certificate in its history file (valid from 1 April 1989 to 8 August 2007) is in the name of ‘Radersalonboot Kapitein Kok B.V’, a Dutch company that owned a paddle steamer from 1911 which had been converted to host events. The owner of the company was a Mr. Key, who was based in Diemen and was a member of the Jaguar Daimler Club Holland from 14 May 1999. Given the E-Type’s low mileage, he was doubtless its second owner. Inspection reports dated 7 October 2008, 5 August 2014 and 14 August 2016 show respective mileages of 2,898, 2,903 and 2,916 miles, and when Thierry Dehaeck bought the car on 5 December 2016, the odometer was still reading 2,916 miles: in 17 years, Key had covered just 916 miles (1,474km)! Today, the car is therefore in absolutely exceptional original condition, and the German experts FSP gave it an ‘AAA’ rating, i.e. 100% original. It is presented in its original ‘Fern Grey’ paint with its scarcely worn ‘Moss Green’ leather interior, unblemished dashboard, immaculate chromework and original 5.3-litre V12 engine. Its history file includes a diagram for the electrical circuit, a catalogue from the period, the owner’s and service manuals, a FIVA ID card and a certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust. Since joining Thierry Dehaeck’s collection, it has been regularly maintained but used sparingly to keep its mileage down. The car was displayed along the Series 2 model from the collection at the Belgian National Museum Autoworld in Brussels in June 2021, as part of the 60th anniversary of the E-Type, and also at the Antwerp Collection Cars show in March 2025. Sold with its original hard-top, It is without doubt one of the best-preserved original V12 E-Types among all the cars that survive, which is sure to excite specialists. Impact on VAT: As the vehicle has been driven less than 6,000 kilometers, it can be considered “as new” for VAT purposes in certain European countries. Please contact your local tax authorities for confirmation prior to purchase. For a French buyer, a VAT of 20% will be charged on the hammer price and the premium.
