Main details of the lot: Collection: Mexico 86 Publisher: Edizioni Panini S.p.A. – Modena Year: 1986 Competition: FIFA World Cup Mexico 1986 National team: France Total number: 18 stickers Numbering: #164-181 France section: complete Original Panini stickers of the period Stickers not pasted Backs original Mexico 86 Metallized federation emblem present Team sticker present All 16 players included in the collection present This is one of the most fascinating sections of the entire Mexico 86 collection, as it represents one of the strongest generations in the history of the French national team. France arrived at the Mexican World Cup as reigning European champions and finished third in the tournament, after a memorable path that also saw it eliminate Italy and Brazil. The French Football Federation recalls that squad as one of the absolute protagonists of the 1986 tournament. The standout piece of the lot is naturally sticker #175 Michel Platini, captain and technical leader of France. Platini was then one of the world’s most important footballers and formed the hub of the famous French midfield line. Alongside him are Alain Giresse #174, Jean Tigana #173, and Luis Fernandez #172, protagonists of the famous French midfield of the 1980s, along with highly skilled players such as Maxime Bossis, Manuel Amoros, Patrick Battiston, Dominique Rocheteau, and Jean-Marc Ferreri. The squad depicted in the stickers also includes goalkeepers Joël Bats #166 and Albert Rust #181, defenders William Ayache #167, Yvon Le Roux #170, and forwards José Touré #178, Yannick Stopyra #179, and Bruno Bellone #180. The stickers appear generally in very good condition for their age, with well-preserved colors, sharp images, and an overall good presentation. Edges and corners are generally regular; however, being original 1986 material, there may be very slight signs of age, minor edge imperfections, small surface marks, or slight centering variations, compatible with age and production of the time. The metallized sticker of the emblem may show some micro-scratches in certain lighting conditions, a common phenomenon for this type of finish that does not compromise the overall appearance of the item. The backs are original and clearly bear the Mexico 86 logo, the respective collection number, multilingual guidelines for the collection, and the Panini Figurine – Edizioni Panini S.p.A. Modena – 1986 mark. The photographs show in detail all the stickers included in the lot from both the front and the back and are an integral part of the description. Please examine all images carefully to personally assess the condition, centering, edges, corners, and surfaces of each item.
