1990 Château Sociando-Mallet - Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux - 1 Magnum (1.5L)

A magnum Haut-medoc Legendary vintage Sociando Mallet 1990 The 1990 Château Sociando-Mallet is widely considered a legendary, reference-point vintage for this unclassified Haut-Médoc estate. Renowned for punchy performance that frequently outshines higher-classified growth Bordeaux wines in blind tastings, this bottle captured the rich, ripe, and concentrated essence of the exceptional 1990 growing season• Aroma: A complex, boisterous bouquet displaying dark currants, cassis, plums, and pencil shavings, layered over secondary notes of tobacco, cedar, loamy soil, and subtle smoke. • Palate: Fleshy, full-bodied, and deeply structured. It delivers concentrated dark fruit balanced by lively, refreshing acidity and beautifully melted, silky tannins. • Current Status: Fully mature. While it features the brick-garnet edges of an advanced vintage, top-tier storage examples remain beautifully integrated, vibrant, and highly drinkable. • Wine Spectator: 96/100 ("Amazing wine for the vintage... goes on and on.") • William Kelley (Wine Advocate): 93/100 ("Beautifully balanced... It would embarrass any number of classified growths.") • Robert Parker: 92/100 Stored in excellent conditions.
