19th-Century Copper Cooking Pot with Hanging Chain – Well-Used Patina and Rustic Charm A atmospheric piece of kitchen history! This copper cooking pot from the 19th century features a graceful, rounded form, a gold-colored upper rim, and two side hanging loops. The accompanying chain with S-hooks makes the whole a characterful eye-catcher. The warm red-brown copper shows a lively surface with hammer marks, small dents and dark discolorations. It is exactly that well-worn look that gives this pot its charm: a household item from the past that can still add atmosphere to a modern interior today. Such pots belong to the tradition of cooking over the hearth, where the pot was hung from a hook or chain. The round shape and simple, functional design evoke that earlier kitchen culture. A second life as a decorative plant holder Because of the crack at the bottom, the pot is offered as a decorative object. Beautiful as a hanging ornamental pot with a light plant in a matching, waterproof inner pot. Even when empty, it forms an attractive accent on a mantel, in a country kitchen, or among a collection of antique copper.
