2001 Marchesi Mazzei Siepi - Tuscany IGT - 1 Double Magnum/Jeroboam (3.0L)

Up for auction is a magnificent and rare Double Magnum (3 Liters) of Castello di Fonterutoli "Siepi" 2001, produced by the historic Marchesi Mazzei estate. Widely recognized as one of the definitive "Super Tuscans", Siepi is a masterful 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot blend from a single, legendary vineyard located in Castellina in Chianti, classified under the Toscana IGT appellation. The 2001 vintage is a benchmark year for Tuscan wines, showing great structure, complexity, and longevity. This specific 3-liter format ensures an incredibly slow and optimal maturation process, meaning the wine is currently entering its perfect, peak drinking window while possessing the potential to be cellared for several more years under proper conditions. Highly acclaimed by international critics, this vintage received an impressive 93/100 points from Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate) and 92/100 points from Wine Spectator. An outstanding, large-format collector's piece, ideal for a special celebration or a premium cellar showcase.
