2002 Ferrari 575M

2002 Ferrari 575M

After more than 20 years of Ferrari placing the V-12 in the middle of its flagship cars, the debut of the front-engine 550 Maranello in 1996 marked a return to form for the brand. In 2002, the 550 Maranello was replaced by the 575M, which was a heavily revised version of the outgoing model. ‌ Although the new model looked largely the same on the outside, it featured new headlights, a larger hood scoop, and numerous small aerodynamic tweaks to increase efficiency. ‌ Under the hood sat a 5.7-liter V-12, producing 508 hp and 434 lbs./ft. of torque, which, when paired with improved aerodynamics, was enough to push the 575M’s top speed past 200 mph. But the most widely discussed difference was the choice of gearbox. ‌ With the 550 Maranello, the only option was a six-speed manual, while the 575M was the first V-12 Ferrari offered with either the conventional six-speed gated manual or a paddle-shift F1 automated manual gearbox. This $10,000 option became the default for the vast majority of 575M buyers. ‌ This 2002 Ferrari 575M is from the model's first year of production and is finished in Rosso Corsa (Racing Red). Sold new via Ferrari of Seattle, this example showed just 11,796 miles at the time of cataloguing. ‌ What sets this example apart from most other 575Ms is the factory-fitted six-speed gated manual gearbox. It was one of roughly 80 manual examples sold in the US, and fewer than 250 produced worldwide. ‌ In addition to the six-speed manual gearbox, this 575M came with the desirable Scuderia Shields on the fenders and it features red painted brake calipers behind its five-spoke wheels. Inside, tan leather is paired with red stitching, seat piping, and carpets, offering a great contrast with the traditional interior color. The seats feature the sought-after Daytona-style centers and power adjustment. ‌ In 2026, the Ferrari received a belt service at Azael Motorsports in Doral, Florida. The 575M includes a set of books and manuals, a Ferrari-branded cover, the tool kit, and the tire inflation kit. ‌ The significance of this example lies in the experience it provides: a glorious V-12 paired with a gated manual, capturing the character, craftsmanship, and sense of occasion that make Ferrari’s finest cars unforgettable. ‌ With its rare specification and gorgeous presentation, this low-mileage 575M is the definition of a modern classic and sure to be remembered as one of Ferrari’s best road cars of the 21st century. car
