2011 Château Beychevelle

Lot of 3 excellent Bdx wines with top ratings. The 2012 Château Troplong Mondot is a highly acclaimed, full-bodied red wine from the Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. Renowned as one of the standout successes of a demanding and late 2012 vintage, it represents a monumental final legacy from the estate's late iconic proprietress, Christine Valette. • Blend: Dominated heavily by 90% Merlot, complemented by 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc (some technical sheets note a simple 90/10 Merlot and Cabernet blend). • Alcohol Content: Reflecting its rich, modern style, it sits between 14.2% and 14.5% ABV. • Production & Aging: Sourced from 31–33 hectares of the estate's prime clay-limestone plateau. It was aged for 18 months in French oak barriques (70–75% new) and bottled unfiltered. Tasting Profile & Critic Reception It was hailed by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate as "one of the great superstars of 2012," earning a 96-point score for its flawless purity, concentration, and balance. Community reviews on CellarTracker aggregate to a highly rated 92.4 average. • Appearance: An incredibly dense, inky blue-black core fading into a vibrant purple rim. • Nose: Powerful and aromatic, defined by luxurious notes of blueberry liqueur, cassis, graphite, truffles, chocolate, and toasted coffee beans. • Palate: Opulent, creamy, and grand-scaled. It balances high ripeness and glycerin with a prominent backbone of dense, powdery tannins and structural freshness. The 2011 Château Beychevelle is a classic, medium-bodied red wine from the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux. While 2011 was generally a more challenging, cooler vintage for Bordeaux compared to the legendary 2009 and 2010 years, Beychevelle handled the climate elegantly, producing a well-balanced and approachable wine The 2011 Château Montrose is a highly structured, old-school red Bordeaux wine from the Saint-Estèphe appellation on the Left Bank. Often noted by critics as a muscular and classic "off-vintage" success• Wine Advocate (William Kelley): 93+ / 100 (Praised for its depth, character, and excellent value for patient cellaring) • Wine Enthusiast: 94 / 100 (Highlighted its power, severity, complexity, and massive aging potential) • James Suckling: 92 / 100 (Noted its chewy, intensely tannic structure) • Neal Martin: 90 / 100 (Described it as a solid, stout, and respectable representation of the vintage) The 2011 vintage is currently entering its ideal drinking window. Due to its deep-seated tannic architecture, it possesses excellent longevity and can easily be cellared through 2040–2045. All 3 bottles stored in excellent conditions.
