Produced by the historic Domaine du Clos de Tart, La Forge de Tart is the estate's Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru and offers collectors a fascinating opportunity to follow the evolution of this distinctive Burgundy wine across four consecutive vintages. Domaine du Clos de Tart is one of Burgundy's most historic and prestigious estates. Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine is famous for the Clos de Tart Grand Cru Monopole, a legendary 7.5-hectare vineyard. The estate has a history dating back to the 12th century and was acquired by the de Montille family in 2017, bringing a new chapter to one of Burgundy's most important properties. La Forge de Tart is the estate's Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru, situated below the Grand Cru Clos de Tart. The wine is produced from younger vines planted between 1999 and 2011 and offers a more accessible expression of the estate's terroir while retaining the precision, depth, minerality and elegant structure associated with Clos de Tart. The 2017 vintage offers an elegant and precise expression, with red and dark cherry fruit, floral nuances, fine tannins, minerality and a refreshing finish. The 2018 vintage brings greater generosity and concentration, balancing ripe fruit with freshness and structure. The 2019 vintage is particularly compelling, combining depth, energy and excellent tannic structure, while the 2020 vintage offers impressive concentration, freshness and precision, with considerable ageing potential. These four vintages provide a fascinating illustration of how the character of La Forge de Tart changes according to the growing season. The bottles have been carefully stored under professional cellar conditions to preserve their quality and provenance. Label, capsule, and fill level are in excellent condition, as shown in the photographs. Collector's note: A vertical collection of La Forge de Tart from 2017 through 2020 is a particularly attractive proposition for Burgundy collectors. These vintages represent an important period in the history of the estate, beginning with the de Montille family's acquisition of Clos de Tart in 2017. The four bottles allow for a comparative tasting across four consecutive vintages and demonstrate the evolution of this increasingly sought-after Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru.
