6x Château Sénéjac 2018 - Haut-Médoc (750 ml) Information on Label / Producer / Château: Château Sénéjac Denomination of Origin: Appellation Haut-Médoc Contrôlée (Bordeaux, France) Vintage: 2018 Bottling: Mis en Bouteille au Château (bottled at the estate) Ownership: Famille Bignon Cordier (SAS Sénéjac, Owner at 33290 Le Pian-Médoc) Alcohol Content: 14% vol. Format: 750 ml (75 cl) Allergen information: Contains sulfites (Contient des sulfites / Contains sulfites) Certifications: Presence of the HVE logo (Haute Valeur Environnementale - High Environmental Value) Organoleptic Sheet Type: Still Red Wine (Bordeaux Blend) Typical vintage grape variety: Majority Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, completed by very small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Visual examination: Deep, intense ruby red with lively purplish reflections due to the excellent structure of the 2018 vintage. Olfactory examination: Nose rich and complex; pronounced notes of black forest fruits (blueberry, blackcurrant, blackberry), hints of sweet spices, vanilla and woody notes integrated with balsamic nuances, graphite and a touch of dried tobacco. Palate examination: On the palate it is structured, full and silky. The tannins are dense but ripe and elegant. It has a pronounced freshness and a prolonged persistence with a finish of dark fruit and finely molded toasts from wood aging. Glassware recommended and service: Bordeaux glass (one large-bowl glass with a slightly conical closing to enhance the complex aromas and allow the wine to aerate). Serving temperature: 16 - 18 °C. Tip: It is advisable to uncork the bottle about 1-2 hours before consumption or decant briefly if consumed young. Food pairings: red meats: Florentine steak, peppercorn fillet, beef roasts and grilled meats. Game: roasted duck, duck breast (magret de canard), venison or wild boar stew. Cheese: Aged hard or semi-hard cheeses (e.g. aged Gouda, Comté, Parmigiano Reggiano). Curiosity about a centuries-old history: The estate’s origins date back to the 16th century (around 1500), making Château Sénéjac one of the oldest historic properties in the Haut-Médoc region. The Cordier family’s signature: Since 1999 the property has been owned by the Bignon-Cordier family, already tied to the historic Château Talbot (Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien). A superb vintage: 2018 in Bordeaux is remembered as an exceptional vintage, characterized by a rainy spring followed by a hot and sunny summer that allowed perfect phenolic ripening of the grapes.
