Masseto 2021 – Tenuta Masseto * Parker Points: 95/100 * fill level: Neck * Label condition: Excellent label * Capsule condition: Excellent * Bottle size: 0.75 L (750 ml) * Bottler: Bottled at the Estate – Tenuta Masseto * Wine/winery history: Masseto originates from the eponymous vineyard on the Tuscan coast of Castagneto Carducci, famous for its soils characterized by blue clay. The first vintage of Masseto dates back to 1986. Tenuta Masseto today has a dedicated winery, inaugurated in 2019. The 2021 vintage was produced with 100% Merlot, after small percentages of Cabernet Franc present in some recent vintages, and was aged for about 24 months in new French oak barriques. The vintage was characterized by a mild and rainy winter followed by a very dry summer; the water reserves accumulated in spring contributed to the concentration of the grapes. (Masseto) Note: the value of 95/100 is the score attributed by Robert Parker Wine Advocate for 2021; other guides have given different evaluations, including 100/100 Vinous and 99/100 Wine Spectator.
