Le Sancerre À Mi-Chemin 2021 is a rare parcel cuvée from Domaine Vincent Gaudry, made from Sauvignon Blanc sourced from the lieu-dit Les Bouloises, in the commune of Saint-Satur. The vines, over 35 years old, grow on a terroir of ferrugineous flint, which marks the wine’s mineral identity and the personality of this great Loire white. Vinified and aged for 24 months in oak barrels, this Sancerre reveals a profile that is at once concentrated, ample and energetic. The nose evokes citrus, apple, white-fleshed fruits and flowers, accompanied by smoky notes and flint. On the palate, the generous texture is balanced by a fine tension, with a persistent finish of mineral and saline accents. At table, this terroir-driven Sancerre white pairs elegantly with roasted or grilled fish, seafood, a cream-based poultry dish, or goat cheese. Its richness and structure also allow it to be enjoyed after a few years in the cellar: the 2021 vintage will soften and reveal more of its complexity with time.
