Pascale Rion-Delhautal « Les Charbonnières » : The wine: Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Charbonnières 2022 is an elegant and concentrated Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits. A balanced vintage with great aging potential. The wine at tasting: The nose expresses cherry and raspberry, with notes of pepper and underbrush. The palate is ample, carried by fine tannins and a fine mineral freshness. The pairings: Perfect with red meats, chicken in sauce, and aged cheeses, notably Époisses. The appellation Nuits-Saint-Georges: An iconic appellation of the Côte de Nuits, known for its structured, elegant Pinot Noir with strong aging potential. The Domaine: Domaine Pascale Rion-Delhautal works with a family, meticulous approach, aiming to best express the terroir and the identity of each plot. Hubert Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis : The wine: This Morey-Saint-Denis 2023 is a fine and expressive Pinot Noir, typical of the Côte de Nuits. A wine that is both indulgent and structured, with good depth. The wine at tasting: The nose opens to cherry, red fruits and berries, with delicate floral and spicy notes. The palate is soft and velvety, supported by a nice freshness and fine tannins. The finish is fresh and slightly mineral. The pairings: It will pair perfectly with roasted poultry, a veal fillet, a grilled pork rib, or a mushroom risotto. On cheeses, it pairs very well with a Brillat-Savarin or a Saint-Nectaire. The vintage: A generous and already approachable 2023 vintage, which can also age gracefully in the cellar.
