The vineyards are planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, on a mosaic of limestone and clay soils that provide freshness, structure, and remarkable aging potential. Today, Château Laroque is widely regarded as one of Saint-Émilion’s finest value estates, consistently delivering wines of impressive precision and character. Château Laroque 2023 is a beautifully crafted expression of the estate’s limestone terroir and the modern style of Saint-Émilion. The 2023 vintage displays an enticing bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, and crushed stone, complemented by delicate notes of spice, cocoa, and cedar. On the palate, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, offering impressive purity of fruit, silky tannins, and vibrant freshness. The predominantly Merlot-based blend is supported by Cabernet Franc, bringing additional complexity, structure, and aromatic lift. Layers of ripe dark fruit, floral nuances, and mineral tension unfold gracefully towards a long, refined finish.
