2023 Daniel Landi Vitícola Mentridana, Cantos del Diablo - Sierra de Gredos, D.O. Méntrida - 6 Bottles (0.75L) - - - - TITLE: Lot of 6 bottles - Vitícola Mentridana CANTOS DEL DIABLO 2023 - El Real de San Vicente - 100% Garnacha aged 60 years - 1,800 bottles - Sierra de Gredos SPANISH DESCRIPTION: Lot of 6 bottles of the most coveted wine from Gredos at the moment. Vitícola Mentridana is the project that has revolutionized the DO Méntrida / Sierra de Gredos. Led by Curro Barreño (co-founder of Fedellos do Couto, one of the best winemakers in Galicia) together with José Ángel Ares Lombán, continuing the recovery of old vines started by Daniel Jiménez-Landi 20 years ago. Philosophy: old vines, elevation, granite and a very light touch in the cellar. CantOs del Diablo 2023 - Parcel wine: - Unique plot of 0.35 hectares in El Real de San Vicente (Toledo), on the border with Gredos, at 900 meters altitude - Soils of decomposed granite and sand, Garnacha vines over 60 years old in a bush (guyot) training - 100% Garnacha, whole-cluster, native yeasts, manual fermentation - Aging 12-14 months in large-format French oak - Production: only 1,800 bottles in 2023 In the glass it’s what everyone is looking for today in Gredos: ethereal, highly aromatic, fresh for the region, red and black fruit, violet, a lot of minerality. Tight, fine palate, elegant tannins and a long finish. Not the powerful Méntrida of the past, but pure high-altitude Garnacha. Status: Perfect bottles as shown in the photo. Purchased in direct allocation from the winery. Impeccable labels, intact red wax, perfect fill levels. Stored in a climate-controlled cellar at 14°C in Barcelona. An almost impossible lot to assemble with six bottles of the same vintage. The 2023 is considered excellent in Gredos for its balance after a cool year.
