A pair of portrait miniatures depicting aristocratic female subjects in period attire. The first miniature depicts a lady in late 18th-century style dress, featuring a voluminous powdered hairstyle and a large feathered hat, rendered in gouache on a circular support. It is housed in a square, light-toned wood frame with a circular turned recess and a brass hanging loop on the gray paper-covered verso. The second miniature shows a 19th century woman with dark hair in ringlets and an off-the-shoulder gown, mounted within a brass bezel and a dark wood frame featuring gilt foliate scroll decorations at the corners. The reverse of the smaller frame is finished with a dark purple textured paper backing. Dimensions: 8"W x 8"H Weight: 1.1 lbs Condition Request Condition Report Good.
