Group of (3) modern Zoetrope/praxinoscopes, optical animation devices based on the 19th century moving-image principle. Includes two larger examples on turned wood bases and one smaller example. One of the larger praxinoscopes features a central assembly of (12) mirrors. Each of the two larger examples includes (15) interchangeable strips marked "Hemisferium." The smaller praxinoscope includes (2) strips marked "Van Cort Instruments 1990." When the drums are rotated, sequential images are created to show the illusion of motion.
