Collection lot dedicated to the world of opera and historical optics, consisting of four different theater binoculars from the antique era (two of which come with their original case) and two prestigious original program booklets from the 1955-56 opera season, belonging to two of the historic temples of opera: the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and the Teatre San Carlo di Napoli. The set blends the classical elegance of mother-of-pearl and ivory/gold finishes with German optical engineering from Berlin and Rathenow. Detail of the 4 Binoculars included in the lot 1. Theater binocular in faceted mother-of-pearl and brass (with case): Materials and design: Classic gilded-brass structure with barrels clad in faceted segments of natural mother-of-pearl with warm rose-gold and pearly iridescent reflections. Mechanics: Central focusing via knurled wheel and black-finished oculars. Case: Complete with its rigid black-grain leather case, featuring a flat-top handle and an automatic snap closure. 2. German binocular "ROW - System Busch Multinett" (with case): Manufacturer and markings: Example of German production marked on the top bridge with the ROW logo (Rathenower Optische Werke) and the inscription "System Busch Multinett." Materials and design: Notable compact bridge-on-flat metal structure painted brown, characterized by ribbed barrels, metallic profiles, and a knurled central focus wheel. Case: Supplied with its rectangular black leather case. 3. Prismatic binocular "Lomara / W.D. Kuehn - Berlin": Manufacturer and markings: Rare compact German prismatic binocular with double engraving within the rising sun symbol: "LOMARA BERLIN" on the left plate and "W.D. KUEHN BERLIN" on the right plate. Materials and design: Central body covered in black leather with brass trim and plates (with authentic patina of time), double central adjustment ring and black ocular lenses. 4. Ivory-white theater binocular with gilded profiles: Materials and design: Elegant stage binocular with a double-bridge body and ivory-white faceted barrels. Details: Enhanced with finely knurled gold metal rings and a coordinated central focusing control. 1. Program of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma ("Sansone e Dalila" by C. Saint-Saëns): Edition: Official publication for the 1955-56 Opera Season with the architectural prospect of the Roman theater printed on the cover. Contents and cast: Includes the photographic portrait of Camille Saint-Saëns and the complete poster of the opera with leading performers (including Fedora Barbieri, Renato Gavarini, Giangiacomo Guelfi, Plinio Clabassi, conducted by Maestro Gianandrea Gavazzeni and choreographies by Aurelio M.
