The monogram is genuine hand embroidery, not the machine-produced plumetis imitation sometimes found with a backing designed to give the appearance of raised embroidery. Here, the initials are worked in double embroidery, creating a remarkably high relief that stands out beautifully against the damask background. Measuring an impressive 5 × 16 cm, the monogram is particularly striking. Each initial holds a single open flower, an unusual and charming detail that adds further interest and individuality to the design.
