A Belle Epoque 18k gold emerald and diamond dragonfly brooch

A Belle Epoque 18k gold emerald and diamond dragonfly brooch Naturalistic form. The body set throughout with six rectangular and one pear-cut emeralds of fine colour, together with small rose-cut diamonds, the eyes set with two oval ruby cabochons. The four openwork wings set with diamonds in old, cushion, Peruzzi and rose cuts, and tremble-mounted on springs suspended from chains. Richly engraved decoration to the underside. Hallmarks: Parisian gold fineness, “tête d’aigle”, maker’s mark “KR?” in a lozenge-shaped punch, bigorne. The mount of the lower right wing slightly warped. Length 7.0 cm. Width 7.5 cm. Weight 24.04 g. Paris, c. 1880.
