A BLUE AND WHITE BEADED GLASS OVAL MIRROR WITH A CUT GLASS TWO LIGHT CHANDELIER IN IRISH REGENCY STYLE, LATE 19TH OR EARLY 20TH CENTURY 67cm high, 55cm wide Provenance: Property of Lady Acquired from O'Sullivan Antiques, Dublin, in 2002 In the last twenty years of the 18th century Ireland developed a thriving glass industry, which supplied its own markets as well as those of Britain. Mirrors set with a cut-glass chandelier were an Irish speciality. The Neo-classical style, with its emphasis on glitter and small-scale detail was particularly suited to the decoration of cut-glass for lighting.
