Vintage chromogenic print on resin coated Kodak paper, ink annotation 'P-18111 BC' and 'This paper manufactured by Kodak' watermarks on the verso. Impressive print of Martian sunset. This photo composite of images from the Viking 1 Lander shows the sunset over the Chryse Planitia observed on the 30th Martian day (sol) after touchdown, at 19:13 local time (10:40 on 20 th August 1976 UTC). At this stage the sun is 2 degrees below the local horizon, and the camera is facing Southwest. NASA explains that ‘the banding in the sky is an artifact produced by the incremental brightness levels of the camera.’
