A DIVISION ONE CASEIN CARVED CAT BUTTON

1 Large early 20th century very cool glass eyed example. From the collection the late Don and Barb Lanier. I have this scarce example in a different color in my collection and have always prized it. Every time I use it in competitions it always seems to get a mention by the judges. The slender cat is carved of greenish Casein and set with 2 glass eyes. The cat is then mounted into a carved out section of the Casein base of a similar coloration. A very cool and intricately designed example. An example like this sold earlier this year for more than our high estimate at another button auction. Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above Date or Era: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918 Condition Request Condition Report PLEASE NOTE: These buttons for the most part are antique and may have age related wear.
