Notes: Hermann Böhm (fl. 1866-1916) was among the leading Viennese makers of silver, enamel and hardstone objets d'art during the late 19th century. His firm was established in Vienna in 1866 and became particularly associated with elaborate Renaissance Revival works combining silver-gilt with finely painted enamel, rock crystal, lapis lazuli and other semi-precious stones. At the Vienna International Exhibition of 1873, Böhm exhibited works in the 'antique style', including jewellery and pieces decorated with Limoges-type enamel, receiving an award for merit. By 1890 the firm advertised works in gold, silver, enamel, rock crystal and lapis lazuli, typifying the richly historicist taste for which Viennese decorative arts became internationally renowned. Böhm's production ranged from table ornaments and vessels to caskets, nefs and elaborate clocks, many intended for the export market, particularly Britain and the United States. His work is usually struck with the maker's mark 'HB', and represents some of the most accomplished Viennese enamel work of the Historicist period. Condition: In very good condition with minor losses and wear, some enamel slightly worn and some dirt build up. Movement appears very clean. Fees and Auction Terms: Buyer's Premium: 30% (Incl.
