A FINE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER WINE EWER, WILLIAM HUNTER, C. 1860 the mid 19th century antique claret jug of solid silver, with finely cast and chased handle designed to resemble vines, with ivory insulators, (ivory exemption certificate JY5A9H54, the hinged cover with vine leaf and grape finial, the body of the jug chased with Rococo motifs, and C scroll cartouches enclosing piles of fruit, the side with a crest and motto 'GRADATIM VINCIMUS', on circular foot, hallmarked William Hunter, London, 1860, 831g (26.71 oz.t.) 33.5cm high sculpture
