(A) FRANK WESSON DOUBLE TRIGGER SINGLE SHOT RIFLE This is a 2nd type with manual ejector on right side, octagon to round barrel, barrel release front trigger, German silver blade dovetailed front sight, rear slot filled and has a Lolli pop tang sight along with walnut butt stock and rifle butt plate. The Wesson legend is stamped atop the barrel. This type was offered from 1864 through 1875. The barrel on this gun is a .54 smoothbore but the chamber appears to take a .25 caliber rimfire cartridge of some type. CONDITION: Very good. The receiver is oxidized dull grey. The barrel is now patina. Stock is solid displaying sundry small impressions. Mechanically sound with a fairly clean bore. Has to be some sort of strange conversion using a breech insert.
