A French 18k gold plated silver and jade Art Déco ring. Technically inspired, moulded ring with a domed bezel featuring striped gold overlays, set with a polished, cabochon-cut block of jade. Hallmarks: Small Paris guarantee mark for silver fineness 800, “crabe”, used since 1838 (Tardy, Silver, 199), maker’s mark “JD”. Ring size 56. Weight 11.54 g. Jean Després, Paris, c. 1935.
