A GEORGE III CARVED MAHOGANY LIBRARY ARMCHAIR IN THE MANNER OF PAUL SAUNDERS, CIRCA 1760 99cm high, 66cm wide, 58cm deep Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use Some old chips and splits, cracks to some joints and the seat rail. There are later blocks to the inner corners of the seat rail; later metal bosses to the underside of the feet. In need of upholstery, the reverse of the chair with damask fabric, the front of the chair back with two layers of natural and synthetic wadding, the seat with calico and some visible hessian. There are some upholstery tack holes to the interior and exterior of the seat rails. A chair of generous width and proportions. All four legs of fluid and elegant line with scroll feet, the carved decoration of pleasing quality.
