A GEORGE III GILTWOOD AND POLYCHROME PAINTED PELMET THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY, IN THE MANNER OF GIOVANI BATTISTA CIPRIANI Centred with a tablet with figures and puttie adoring a stature with floral garlands, above stiff leaf ornament 24cm high, 172cm wide, 17.5cm deep Provenance: By tradition, believed to have been acquired from Norbury Park, Surrey, where Cipriani worked. Condition Report: Structurally sound and ready to use. Some inevitable rubbing, marking, and discolouration to the painted surfaces. Some paint loss and minor wood loss to the extremities. The painted decoration appears to be largely original with very minor refreshments. Some minor natural cracks to the timber.
