A German 18k gold and black sapphire cabochon friendship snap ring

A German 18k gold and black sapphire cabochon friendship snap ring with enamel portrait miniatures inside. Oval, moulded bezel with a side hinge, centrally set with a black sapphire (approx. 13.11 × 11.9 mm) in a double rubover setting. Hinged bezel opens to reveal an interior finely decorated in polychrome champlevé enamel with stylised portraits of a nun holding a paten and a female artist holding laurel leaves. Hallmarks: Fineness 750, unsigned. Bezel 2.2 × 2.6 cm. Weight 26.4 g. Lioba Munz, Fulda, 1950s.
