A unique and rare six-panel byobu folding screen decorated with a floral and naturalistic scene featuring numerous flowers, including lotuses, irises, peonies, wisteria, and a cherry blossom tree in the center. The landscape resembles a stretch of coastline on the banks of a river. The gold dust lends luminosity and preciousness, harmonizing the entire scene. Signed on the right. Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings. --- The byobu is in good condition. There are some signs of wear to the lacquer frame and a restoration on the sixth panel (see photo 7). Please refer to the pictures for further details. The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy. 973
