A LATE GEORGE III CARVED MARBLE CHIMNEYPIECE TABLET OF BACCHANALES CIRCA 1780 With Bacchic children herding a goat to the Feast of Bacchus and drinking wine 56cm wide, 23cm high, 4cm deep After the Galleria Doria Pamphilj marble relief by Francois Duquesnoy (d.1643). A terracotta version was incorporated in a chimneypiece at Spencer House, London in the 1760s (J. Friedman Spencer House, London, 1993, figs 181 and 145).
