(Disney, 1946) An original concept painting of Sally (Ruth Warrick) in the parlour from "Song of the South" by color stylist Mary Blair. Blair began her career at Disney in 1940 and did preliminary concept work on "Dumbo" before becoming a color stylist for Saludos Amigos," The Three Caballeros," and "Song of the South." Her cutting-edge arrangements of color palettes made memorable contributions toward the production of “Cinderella,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Peter Pan,” and multiple short films. Accomplished in watercolor and conte crayon, the piece has an image size of 8.5” x 11" on the 10” x 12" paper. The piece is in very good condition with light wear from production use, including pinholes at the corners, a small spot of tape residue at the top right corner, and paper slightly off-white from age.
