A. Michelsen: Collar of the Knight Grand Cross of the Dannebrog Order.

A Danish collar of the Knight Grand Cross of the Dannebrog Order, silver-gilt and comprising a total of 52 links with 26 red and white opaque enamelled Latin crosses, 12 crowned W's for King Valdemar the Victorious of Denmark, and 14 crowned C5 monograms for King Christian V of Denmark, all held together by one or three chain links, a hook at front for the order itself. Privately manufactured for Hannibal Sehested of Broholm Manor, when he received the order in 1901 from King Christian IX of Denmark. A. Michelsen, Copenhagen. Apparently unmarked. L. c. 96 cm.
