A pair of French 18k gold platinum diamond and ruby "Camellia" clip earrings. Stylised three-petalled camellia flower design with a rippled surface, each concentrically set with seven brilliant-cut diamonds, nine oval-cut rubies and 41 brilliant-cut diamonds. 96 diamonds, total approx. 5.04 ct (G/H, VVS/VS), 18 rubies, total approx. 4.5 ct. Hallmarks: French gold hallmark “tête d’aigle” and platinum hallmark “tête de chien”, “OR”, “VAN CLEEF & ARPELS”, maker’s mark “RE”, numbered 17729. Diameter approx. 2.8 cm. Total weight 24.21 g. Van Cleef & Arpels, Paris, 1970s.
