China, early 18th c. 35.4 × 17.8 × 13.2 cm. The cover finely decorated with four archaistic phoenixes with long scrolling tail feathers encircling a central medallion, framed by key-fret borders along the rim, the sides with intricate wan-character diaper grounds. The interior finished in vermilion lacquer.
